They have such a unique vibe and can fit into any genre you may like while still maintaining an NCT-labeled style. This song reminded me of some of their older works, which I absolutely loved. Still, when I think of NCT 127, I immediately picture experimental soundscapes, hard-hitting hip-hop and atypical approaches. It definitely causes a great mismatch within the sound of the song, but I believe it all flowed smoothly as the tempo slowed down naturally and perfectly with the first verse. For those of you who may not like the shouting-heavy parts, the group also added in relief moments, where the vocals are brought in. Thankfully, the song development is very unpredictable. Although the track may come off as loud or annoying, I believe the shouts and noisy hook of the track really represent the theme they were going for.
I’m flying around all day long Bruce Lee” really left listeners feeling more powerful than ever. Lyrics such as “I throw a straight punch right left Bruce Lee. Kick It is a strong and dynamic hip-hop dance track, with a message that calls to overcome and beat psychological traumas.
In my opinion, NCT 127 really ‘popped off’ with this new song. The various locations shot in the music video is also clearly inspired by Chinese traditional architecture, but also current elements such as motorcycles and neon lights that give the Kick It MV a modern twist where the members stand out accordingly. They recreated and added in a whole fight scene in their choreography to remind us of Lee.

The choreography also provides many references to the movie star. Bruce Lee is well known for his yellow and black jumpsuit, something I can say all of us probably know of. The video included a large amount of martial arts and the iconic yellow and black combo outfits. The song and music video can be seen as inspired from or a tribute to the martial arts legend, Bruce Lee. Kick It is a very powerful track where the group definitely showed their most acrobatic side. This is also the album where nember Jungwoo has returned after he sat out of NCT 127 promotions since August of last year for health reasons.
